From The Principal

We had some FANTASTIC opportunities and events taking place here at Ebeling this past month, and I am proud of the staff, students, and families working together to make our school outstanding! Our sixth grade students recently attended the UCS Career Focus Luncheon, where they had the opportunity to interact with local business representatives, ask career related questions, and present their digital resume. In preparation for the event, each student designed a QR code with embedded information, and a brief presentation including their digital resume and career goals. All of these experiences help to ensure that they are well prepared for their future!

Coming up on May 8th, our annual Art Fair will transform our gym into a gallery, with a wonderful display of art from every student in our school. Also that evening, our fifth graders will show off their talents related to playing music on their ukuleles, and at our final book fair of the year we will be offering ‘buy one, get one free’ on book purchases to promote summer reading. Hope to see you here! It’s not too early to think about summer, so let’s keep the learning momentum going! Utica Community Schools Community Education Department runs programs off-site in neighborhood locations, and at other UCS schools. These programs are a great way to keep kids active and busy, and provide some academic instruction as well. A variety of classes for all ages are offered; click on UCS Community Education to check them out. Summer Camp through SACC is gearing up for an exciting summer as well, with lots of fun experiences planned for your children. In the coming weeks, all residents will receive a mailing listing these Community Education summer programs – be sure to check them out for programs and classes including hobbies and sport offerings.
